Life

I moved to New York on August 30. Two weeks in, and I already feel about three times more productive than I did at home. Location genuinely motivates you and surrounds you with the right people. I've met more builders in two weeks than in the two months before, eaten my way through Flushing, and spent a day hacking at the OpenAI office, which I wrote about.

Work

Worked at three startups out of Brown. Came out of it knowing how to build, and how I want to work. Now I'm job hunting in NYC, aiming at teams where I can ship AI products, while still building on the side: Lighthunter, a stack of side apps, and the occasional hackathon experiment like Board Studio.

Thinking about

• How much of "being motivated" is really just being in the right room
• What it means to actually build a life, not just a career
• How to make things people find genuinely useful
• Writing more, and being less precious about it
